The Colonial and Postcolonial New Researchers’ Workshop is currently looking for new presenters and convenors for the academic year 2011-2012. The workshop has been running since 2008 as a forum for doctoral students and early career researchers working on colonial and postcolonial history to present their work in a friendly and informal atmosphere. Seminars run on a monthly basis at the Institute of Historical Research, intercalated with the Imperial and World History Seminar (http://www.history.ac.uk/events/seminars/124 ).

We welcome papers on any aspect of colonial or postcolonial history, and encourage new and interdisciplinary approaches. Anyone interested in presenting their work, whether finished pieces or work in progress, is encouraged to get in touch. Please contact either Rob Waters (r.w.waters@qmul.ac.uk) or Hilary Ingram (hilary.ingram.09@ucl.ac.uk). The usual format is a 30 minute paper followed by an hour discussion.

We are also currently looking for additional people to help convene and chair the seminars. If anybody is interested, please get in touch at the above email addresses.
